One year ago today, Elena and I were married in Canada, and entire country that embraces the validity of same-sex marriage. It became legal about two weeks later in New York. Someday the rest of the states will catch up to so much of the rest of the world.
Thank you, Canada, for giving us a sweetest wedding day. As we walked down the street in our wedding finery, all by ourselves, everyone driving by honked their horns, shouted out their happy wishes for us. We felt embraced by the whole city of Toronto.
I am grateful for every moment in this life with Elena. And I’m grateful for every next step our world takes toward tolerance, compassion, acceptance, openness. It is happening, little by little, if you really look. The more we place our consciousness on what is good and encouraging, the more we are encouraged by the good flowering in the world. So thank you Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, New York, Washington DC, Iowa, and Washington.
Happy Anniversary, Elena!
